Do I Need Cosmetic Dentistry?

If you want to alter anything about the appearance of your teeth or gums, then cosmetic dentistry offers the services you're looking for. Cosmetic or aesthetic dental treatments specifically address the appearance of your smile. Whether you want to brighten your smile with teeth whitening or use our gentle gum contouring treatment to balance its appearance, our team offers the services you need to elevate the appeal of your smile.

We understand that you want to see the end results before you continue your cosmetic dental journey, and that's why we use smile design to show you what your new smile will look like after treatment. Our team will have a detailed consultation with you to fully understand your goals and determine which treatments will help you achieve them. We will use smile design to show you which options are available and how they will improve your smile so you can make an informed decision.

Porcelain Veneers: If you have a chipped, worn, uneven, or deeply discolored tooth, our porcelain veneers may be the solution for you. Veneers are versatile because they can conceal multiple cosmetic issues. Our veneers are thin porcelain shells customized to fit over your tooth and create a beautifully blended smile. We artfully match your custom veneers to the size, shape, and color of your neighboring teeth so they look and feel natural. When we prepare your teeth to receive your veneers, we buff a minimal amount of the enamel and use a temporary veneer to protect your teeth while your custom veneers are crafted by a trusted lab. We often pair veneer treatment with Invisalign® clear braces, which lets us straighten your teeth before applying the veneers for even more dynamic results.

Invisalign Clear Aligners: When you have misaligned teeth, you may feel tempted to hide your smile. We offer Invisalign clear aligners to correct mild to moderate bite misalignments for adults and kids ages ten and older. If you have crooked, gapped, or crowded teeth, our invisible braces allow you to straighten your smile discreetly. The clear trays are comfortable because there are no metal wires or brackets that irritate the inside of your lips and cheeks. They are also removable so that you can maintain your normal diet and daily oral hygiene routine.

Teeth Whitening: It's natural to want a bright white smile, but time and highly pigmented foods and drinks stain and discolor your teeth and dim your enamel. We offer professional whitening treatments to restore your bright smile. Our team offers Zoom® whitening treatments in our relaxing office as well as take-home kits. You can select our professional in-office treatment to whiten your smile by multiple shades, convenient kits to brighten teeth at home, or a package that includes both treatments to maintain your results. Each of our options lifts years of accumulated surface stains left behind by tomato sauce, red wine, coffee, or tea, giving you a dazzling smile you'll love to share.

Gum Contouring: When your gum line is low and covers a large portion of your teeth, then you have what is known as a gummy smile. We offer gentle gum contouring with a laser to reshape your gums and reveal more of your teeth and create a more balanced smile. Our team uses this modern treatment because it's efficient and precise, maximizes your comfort, and promotes faster healing.

Tooth-Colored Restorations: A compromised or missing tooth affects the appearance of your smile as well as your overall oral health. We offer tooth-colored dental restorations to rejuvenate the integrity of your bite and the beauty of your smile. Our compassionate team provides traditional as well as implant-supported crowns, bridges, and dentures to meet your specific needs and smile goals.

Cosmetic Dentistry FAQs

When you want to change your smile, it's natural to have questions. Our friendly team welcomes your questions and we are happy to provide the answers and resources you need to make an informed decision regarding your treatment plan. Here are some of the most common questions we receive about aesthetic dental treatments.

Do I have to change my diet during Invisalign clear braces treatment?

No. Invisalign clear aligners are completely removable, which means you can continue to enjoy your favorite foods and drinks during treatment. Simply remove the trays each time you eat or drink, as the force of chewing will damage your trays and liquids can stain the clear plastic.

Dental restorations are easy to care for. You can simply brush and floss your crown, bridge, or implant-supported prosthetic teeth twice a day just like your natural teeth. If you have traditional dentures, then you will remove them and clean them with denture toothpaste and place them in an approved denture solution to soak while you sleep. This helps to keep the acrylic base soft and comfortable.

Professional teeth whitening gel is designed to gently lift surface stains without damaging the enamel of your teeth. It's common to experience slight sensitivity after treatment, but it will go away within a few hours.
